Date:  Friday, April 16, 2021

Every Friday the Fork Union Military Faculty and Staff meet to nominate a few who have exceeded the standards and demonstrated superlative performance. Whilst we have various awards and recognitions - a simple "Well Done!" we hope, is also appreciated. The combination of the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags, i.e., Bravo Zulu, also referred to as "BZ," is a naval signal, typically conveyed by flag hoist or voice radio, meaning "Well Done" with regard to actions, operations or performance.

The following are the Bravo Zulu awards for this week:

Cadet Second Lieutenant Chase White is a second-year cadet in Alpha Company.  He is a boarding student from Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  Cadet White is a dynamic platoon leader for third platoon in Alpha Company.  He is always professional and inspiring to his peers, and is also a leader in the classroom and on the athletics fields.  Cadet White is highly respected among staff and his peers for the positivity, encouragement, and fairness in his approach.  When it comes to inspections, both personal and room, he leads his company to be the best.  In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he is a member of the lacrosse, cross country, and indoor track teams.  Cadet White has embodied the Fork Union mantra of Body, Mind, and Spirit.  Bravo Zulu, Cadet Chase White!

Cadet Dominic Julius is a second-year cadet in Bravo Company.  He is a boarding student from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, platoon sergeant within the company, and a member of the prep football, basketball, and track teams.  This week, he traveled to St. Christopher’s for a track meet and helped win the 4x4 relay for their team.  Cadet Julius goes above and beyond each day ensuring that his platoon is prepared for the day, while also concentrating on his academic and athletic commitments.  Bravo Zulu, Cadet Dominic Julius!
